Outsourcing fleet management and review of the type of financing

Around 50 vehicles are LW panel vans L1H1 for customer service.

Cafina regularly reviews the fleet management processes and costs of its vehicle fleet. “In-house fleet management ties up resources, but is not part of Cafina’s core competence,” says Paul Meier, Head of Customer Service. With the outsourcing of all vehicle and driver support activities, a switch from finance leasing to full-service leasing (FSL) is therefore also to be examined. “The aim is to outsource the entire fleet, minimize risks and save costs,” adds Christoph Kuhn, Country Manager Switzerland.

During a workshop with procorp, the technical requirements of the new vehicles to be procured were defined and the process specifications and scope of services of the future leasing provider were compared. The results of the new fleet strategy formed the basis for incorporating the needs and requirements into the tender documentation and procorp’s software.

Everything from a single source at lower overall costs

The next step was for procorp to inquire about the vehicle conditions of selected models with all-wheel drive on the market. The models in question were then made available to various providers for recording the leasing offers in procorp’s tendering software. In addition to obtaining FSL offers for new vehicles, offers were also obtained for the takeover of the existing fleet. And this even in three variants: depending on age / kilometers also in sale-and-lease-back or in management only.

The software was able to create the numerous offers with the required transparency, evaluate them efficiently and discuss them with Cafina. “It is fascinating to see how, thanks to this software, a wide variety of scenarios can be simulated and evaluated within a very short time. It was possible for us to select the optimal partner based on the detailed conditions in a very short time,” says Christoph Kuhn enthusiastically.
