Invitation to tender for electric vehicles and new contracts

Gebäudeversicherung Bern (GVB) has been insuring all buildings in the canton of Bern against fire and natural hazards for over 200 years. The GVB Group stands for expertise in all aspects of buildings. Over 280 internal and 270 external employees are on hand to assist customers in all matters relating to securing and insuring their buildings. For several years now, GVB has relied 100% on electromobility for the mobility of its employees on the road.

Vehicle fleet in the project: PKW

Result: Renewed tender for the electric vehicle fleet

“Following this tender, we are now getting “more vehicle for less money”. The collaboration with procorp was extremely professional and has more than paid off for us.”

The entire fleet of electric vehicles will be replaced in spring 2025. The vehicles are currently on a full-service lease. In July 2024, GVB decided to carry out the tender for the replacement requirements together with procorp, knowing that the delivery times vary greatly in some cases.

At a joint workshop, the requirements for the vehicles were examined in order to create the basis for recording reference vehicles in the procorp software.

Efficient evaluation using the like-4-like approach

In the first step, the vehicle conditions of selected vehicle models were requested from various brand representatives. The vehicle conditions were recorded and evaluated online in the procorp tendering software. The models shortlisted by GVB were then made available to various leasing providers for the total cost of ownership (TCO) calculation in procorp’s online tendering software. Thanks to the software, throughput times are noticeably shorter and it was possible to quickly create evaluations on an identical comparison basis (equipment features of vehicles, scope of services of providers) and discuss them with GVB. “It was very interesting for us to see how the vehicle market for electromobility has developed in recent years. In the software, all offers are transparent and mapped according to our needs and requirements. Thanks to the efficient evaluation using the like-4-like approach via the software, we were able to quickly simulate and discuss various scenarios. Within a very short space of time, an initial picture emerges of the direction things could take and where the main points of negotiation lie,” says Patrick Lerf, Head of Finance at GVB.

Gebäudeversicherung Bern: New vehicles at more favorable conditions

Once a few models had emerged, they were tested by GVB employees in everyday life. “It is important to us that the employees were able to give feedback on the models before we made a decision at management level. Our vehicles should be ecologically and economically sustainable and represent a motivating factor for our employees,” says Patrick Lerf. ”In addition, procorp was able to confirm to us that electromobility is more worthwhile than ever for GVB when you compare the TCO with conventional combustion engines, even without taking fuel costs into account in some cases.”

RESULT

The two-stage tendering process has once again paid off for another procorp customer. The decisive factor here is the competition using procorp’s expertise and the software developed specifically for such tenders. “Yes, we are now getting “more vehicle for less money” after this tender, which of course makes us very happy. The cooperation with procorp was very pleasant, extremely professional and more than worthwhile for us. After all, procorp also drew up a contract for us that secures the tender results for us over the coming years,” says a delighted Patrick Lerf.
